- 1/2 cup (50 g) breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil for frying
For the Casserole:
- 12 oz (340 g) spaghetti
- 3 cups (700 ml) marinara sauce
- 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil to prevent sticking
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Optional Garnish:
- Fresh basil or parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs: In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Shape into meatballs and fry in olive oil until browned.
- Cook the Spaghetti: Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Assemble the Casserole: Preheat oven. In a baking dish, layer cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, meatballs, and cheeses. Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake until cheese is melted. Garnish with basil or parsley before serving.
