Description

Indulge in the rich and decadent flavors of these banana chocolate brownies. The combination of ripe bananas and chocolate creates a moist and fudgy treat that is perfect for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup mashed banana (about 2 medium bananas)
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup (30 g) Dutch processed or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup (60 g) all purpose flour

Chocolate

  • ½ cup (3 oz., 85 g) semi sweet chocolate chips (for melting)
  • ½ cup (3 oz., 85 g) chocolate chips or chunks (fold-in)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix mashed banana, melted chocolate, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together sugar, salt, cocoa powder, baking powder, and flour.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can add nuts or additional chocolate chips for extra texture.
  • For a healthier version, you can substitute some of the butter with applesauce or Greek yogurt.
