Description

A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender beef tips in savory gravy served over creamy cauliflower mash. This recipe is a wholesome and satisfying meal perfect for a cozy dinner.

Beef Tips:

  • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat or sirloin tips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp ghee or dairy-free butter
  • OPTIONAL: 1 teaspoon coconut aminos or Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp tapioca flour or cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp cold water (for Keto, substitute ½ tsp xanthan gum)

Cauliflower Mash:

  • 2 (12 oz) bags cauliflower rice or 1.5 heads cauliflower, chopped into florets
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp chives, fresh or dry
  • 2 tbsp coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp dairy-free sour cream or regular sour cream if not dairy-free

Instructions

  1. Season and Sear Beef: Season beef tips with salt and pepper, then sear in olive oil until browned.
  2. Sauté Onions and Garlic: Add onions and garlic to the skillet, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Make Gravy: Add ghee, beef broth, and thickening agent to the skillet, simmer until beef is tender and gravy thickens.
  4. Prepare Cauliflower Mash: Cook cauliflower, then blend with seasonings and dairy-free ingredients until smooth.
  5. Serve: Plate cauliflower mash, top with beef tips and gravy, garnish and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can also prepare the beef tips and gravy in a crockpot for a hands-off cooking method.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasonings and consistency of the cauliflower mash to suit your preferences.
