Description

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

For the Filling:

  • 7 ounces white chocolate
  • 3.4 fluid ounces heavy cream
  • 10.5 ounces cherry jam (strained) or cherry jelly
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons cherry schnapps

Additionally:

  • 3.5 ounces milk or dark chocolate
  • A small handful of chopped dark chocolate for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Combine flour, butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, and cocoa powder to form a dough. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Make the Filling: Melt white chocolate with heavy cream, then stir in cherry jam and cherry schnapps if using.
  3. Assemble the Cookies: Roll out dough, cut into rounds, place a spoonful of filling in the center, and seal with another round of dough. Bake until golden.
  4. Decorate: Drizzle melted milk or dark chocolate over the cookies and sprinkle with chopped dark chocolate.

Notes

  • You can substitute cherry schnapps with cherry extract for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the filling by adding more or less cherry jam to suit your taste.
