Ingredients

Units Scale

Main ingredients:

  • 230g bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter (plus more if needed)
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Coat and marinate chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry and coat with Cajun seasoning, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Let rest for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Cook pasta: Cook bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  3. Sear chicken: In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter, sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and rest before slicing.
  4. Make sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic, pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer, add mozzarella gradually, stir until smooth.
  5. Season and combine: Season sauce, toss in pasta, stir to coat evenly, simmer 1–2 minutes.
  6. Serve: Plate pasta, top with sliced Cajun chicken, garnish with parsley and optional Parmesan. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded mozzarella for the smoothest, creamiest sauce.
  • Let your chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy.
  • A splash of pasta water can fix an overly thick or tight sauce instantly.
