Description

These Cheesy Parmesan Potato Balls are crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and oozing with melted mozzarella cheese. They make a perfect appetizer or snack for cheese lovers.

For the mashed potatoes:

  • 800 grams cooked potatoes (about 56 medium) (about 5 cups mashed)
  • 70 grams Parmesan cheese (about ¾ cup grated)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For the stuffing:

  • 50 grams mozzarella cheese, (½ cup cubed)

For the coating:

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Breadcrumbs

For frying:

  • Sunflower oil (fill the pan halfway)

For decorating:

  • Freshly chopped parsley
  • Extra Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mashed potatoes: Mash the cooked potatoes and mix in Parmesan cheese, butter, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. Stuff the potato balls: Take a portion of mashed potatoes, flatten it, place a cube of mozzarella in the center, and form it into a ball.
  3. Coat and fry: Dip the potato balls in beaten egg, coat with cornstarch and breadcrumbs, then fry until golden brown.
  4. Decorate and serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the mashed potatoes are well seasoned for flavor.
