Description

These Christmas Sausage Rolls are a festive twist on a classic appetizer. Flaky puff pastry encases flavorful sausage meat seasoned with herbs and spices, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • 1 lb (450g) sausage meat or ground sausage
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • ½ cup finely diced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add sausage meat, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  3. Assemble Rolls: Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles. Spoon sausage mixture onto each rectangle and roll up, sealing the edges.
