These French Dip Sliders are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich, featuring tender roast beef and melted Swiss cheese on slider buns, served with a flavorful au jus dipping sauce.

- 15 ounces (12-count) package of slider buns (Martin’s brand Potato Rolls)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter divided into 4 tablespoons and 2 tablespoons
- 3 cups thinly sliced yellow onion from 1 large onion
- 3 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves divided into 2 teaspoons and 1 teaspoon
- 2 teaspoons grated garlic from 2 cloves, divided in half
- ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
- ¾ teaspoon salt divided into ½ teaspoon and ¼ teaspoon
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1½ pounds thinly sliced deli roast beef cut into 1-inch wide strips
- ½ pound Swiss cheese thinly sliced
Au Jus dipping sauce
- 10.5 ounces can French onion soup Campbell’s brand
- 1½ cups water
- 1 ounce packet of Au Jus mix
Instructions
- Caramelize Onions: In a skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add onions, 2 teaspoons thyme, half of grated garlic, sugar, ½ teaspoon salt, and pepper. Cook until onions are caramelized.
- Assemble Sliders: Split slider buns, layer roast beef, Swiss cheese, and caramelized onions. Place in a baking dish.
- Make Au Jus: In a saucepan, combine French onion soup, water, Au Jus mix, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 teaspoon thyme, ¼ teaspoon salt, and remaining garlic. Simmer until heated through.
- Bake Sliders: Pour half of Au Jus over sliders, cover with foil, and bake until cheese melts. Serve with remaining Au Jus for dipping.

- You can customize these sliders with your favorite cheese or additional toppings like mushrooms or peppers.
- For a quicker version, you can use pre-made Au Jus or beef broth instead of making it from scratch.
