Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Mushrooms:

  • 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional, for extra crunch)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Ranch Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Dip mushroom slices in the egg mixture, then dredge in flour mixture.
  2. Fry the Mushrooms: Heat oil in a pan and fry coated mushroom slices until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Make the Ranch Dressing: In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir in milk as needed for desired consistency.
  4. Serve: Enjoy the fried mushrooms with the ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

  • Cornmeal adds extra crunch to the fried mushrooms, but it can be omitted if desired.
  • Adjust the seasonings in the ranch dressing to suit your taste preferences.
