- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup milk (optional)
For the Seasoning & Cheese:
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Layer the casserole: In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, cooked beef, onion, and garlic.
- Add seasoning: Sprinkle Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper over the layers.
- Add liquids: Pour beef broth and milk over the casserole.
- Cover and bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Add cheese: Remove the foil, sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese on top, and bake uncovered until cheese melts.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can customize this casserole by adding vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
