Description

  • 2 cups (240g) peeled & diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated or brown sugar (use either)

Egg Wash + Topping

  • 1 large egg*
  • 1 Tablespoon (15ml) milk (any kind)
  • optional: 1/2 cup (145g) salted caramel, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix diced apples, cornstarch, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until combined.
  2. Assemble the Turnovers: Roll out the pastry sheets, cut into squares, place a spoonful of filling in each, fold over, seal, and brush with egg wash.
  3. Bake: Bake the turnovers until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve: Drizzle with salted caramel before serving for added sweetness.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling by adding raisins, nuts, or a dash of lemon juice for extra flavor.
