- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated or brown sugar (use either)
Egg Wash + Topping
- 1 large egg*
- 1 Tablespoon (15ml) milk (any kind)
- optional: 1/2 cup (145g) salted caramel, for drizzling
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix diced apples, cornstarch, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until combined.
- Assemble the Turnovers: Roll out the pastry sheets, cut into squares, place a spoonful of filling in each, fold over, seal, and brush with egg wash.
- Bake: Bake the turnovers until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Drizzle with salted caramel before serving for added sweetness.
Notes
- You can customize the filling by adding raisins, nuts, or a dash of lemon juice for extra flavor.
- These turnovers are best enjoyed warm, but can also be served at room temperature.
