Description

These homemade soft pretzels are a delicious treat that are perfect for snacking or serving at parties. They are soft, chewy, and topped with your choice of coarse salt or everything but the bagel seasoning.


Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 and a 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 and a 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 and a 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt

Boiling:

  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tbsp baking soda

Toppings:

  • 1 egg
  • coarse salt (for topping)
  • everything but the bagel seasoning (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Mix yeast, brown sugar, and warm water. Add flour, olive oil, and salt. Knead until smooth and let rise.
  2. Shape and boil: Divide dough, shape into pretzels, boil in water and baking soda mixture.
  3. Bake: Brush with egg, sprinkle toppings, and bake until golden brown.
