  • 1 cup whole milk

For the Chocolate Layer:

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp milk

For the Strawberry Layer:

  • ¼ cup strawberry puree (or strawberry jam)
  • 23 drops red food coloring (optional, for vibrancy)

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Layers: Mix dry ingredients, cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, alternate with dry ingredients and milk, divide batter into 3 portions.
  2. Make the Chocolate Layer: Mix cocoa powder and milk, spread on one cake layer.
  3. Create the Strawberry Layer: Mix strawberry puree and food coloring, spread on another cake layer.
  4. Assemble the Cake: Stack layers with frosting in between.
  5. Decorate: Frost the cake with buttercream frosting.

Notes

  • For a stronger strawberry flavor, use fresh strawberries instead of jam.
