  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp Earl Grey tea
  • 1/2 tbsp culinary lavender
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste

For the Lavender Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 tbsp culinary lavender
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Earl Grey Cake: Mix Earl Grey tea and lavender with flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk. Bake.
  2. Make the Earl Grey Milk Soak: Steep tea and lavender in milk, then mix with condensed milk and vanilla.
  3. Create the Lavender Cream Cheese Frosting: Infuse lavender with butter, beat with cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Add purple food coloring if desired.
  4. Assemble the Cake: Poke holes in the cake, pour over the milk soak, and frost with lavender cream cheese frosting.
