  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Round sprinkles (optional)
  • Star sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare meringue: In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form.
  3. Add color: Gently fold in green food coloring to achieve the desired shade of green.
  4. Pipe trees: Transfer the meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe Christmas tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5-2 hours, or until the meringues are dry and crisp.
  6. Decorate: Once cooled, decorate the trees with round and star sprinkles, if desired.

  • Make sure the mixing bowl and beaters are clean and free of any grease to ensure the meringue whips up properly.
