Description

These Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs are a delicious twist on classic meatballs, with gooey mozzarella in the center. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 pound ground meat (chicken, turkey, or beef)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 1 raw egg
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 20 baby mozzarella balls
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Pasta sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare breadcrumbs: Heat oven to 400°F. Prepare half of the breadcrumbs on a large plate.
  2. Make meatball mixture: Combine ground meat, garlic, parsley, egg, parmesan, breadcrumbs, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form and stuff meatballs: Create meatballs, stuff with mozzarella, and coat in breadcrumbs.
  4. Brown meatballs: Brown meatballs in olive oil.
  5. Add sauce and bake: Pour sauce over meatballs, cover, and bake until cooked through.

Notes

  • Shape meatballs in advance and store in the fridge.
  • Freeze uncooked meatballs in layers with parchment paper between.
