These Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks are a spicy twist on a classic appetizer. The crispy outside and gooey inside make them irresistible, especially when paired with cool ranch dressing for dipping.

- 1 (16 ounce) block mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt, divided
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, divided
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 1 1/3 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
- 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 4 tablespoons paprika, divided
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying, or more as needed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions
- Cut and Coat Cheese: Cut mozzarella into sticks, coat in flour mixture.
- Dip in Egg Mixture: Dip in egg mixture with hot sauce.
- Coat in Breadcrumbs: Coat in breadcrumb mixture.
- Fry: Fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Make Hot Seasoning: Combine paprika, cayenne, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
- Toss in Hot Seasoning: Toss fried sticks in hot seasoning.
- Serve: Serve hot with ranch dressing for dipping.
Notes
- Make sure oil is hot enough for frying to ensure crispy sticks.
- Adjust cayenne pepper for desired level of spiciness.
