Description

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Royal Icing:

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 4 cups / 500 g icing sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons + 1 teaspoon meringue powder
  • 1/2 cup water + more as needed

Instructions

  1. Cookies: Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and egg, mix in dry ingredients, chill dough, roll and cut shapes, bake at 350°F until edges are golden.
  2. Royal Icing: Beat all ingredients until smooth, adjust consistency with water, pipe or spread on cooled cookies.

Notes

  • Decorate cookies with festive sprinkles or edible glitter for a more dazzling look.
  • You can use food coloring to tint the royal icing for different colored decorations.
