Toffee Sauce

  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

Chocolate Layers

  • 16 oz. chopped dark chocolate (60%, Ghirardelli recommended)
  • 16 oz. chopped high quality white chocolate (Lindt recommended)
  • 1/21 tsp peppermint extract

Topping

  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Base Layer: Arrange Ritz crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  2. Make Toffee Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar. Stir in vanilla extract and cook until smooth.
  3. Layer Chocolate: Pour toffee sauce over crackers. Add a layer of dark chocolate, followed by white chocolate mixed with peppermint extract.
  4. Add Toppings: Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces to serve.
