Instructions
- Cream butter and sugars: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients: Mix in the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Chill dough: Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Shape and coat cookies: Preheat oven to 350°F. Shape dough into balls, roll in powdered sugar, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set. Let cool before serving.
Notes
- For a more intense red color, add more food coloring as needed.
