Description

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

For the Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Mashed Potatoes:

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatballs: In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Shape into meatballs.
  2. Cook the Meatballs: Brown meatballs in a skillet. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and cornstarch mixture. Cook until thickened.
  4. Prepare Mashed Potatoes: Boil potatoes until tender. Mash with garlic, milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Serve: Plate meatballs over mashed potatoes and pour gravy over them. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Add a splash of cream to the mashed potatoes for extra richness.
