Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (low sodium or no sodium added)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, oyster sauce, honey, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Cook Broccoli: Sauté broccoli in 1 tablespoon oil until tender. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Cook shrimp in remaining oil until pink. Remove and set aside.
  4. Make Stir Fry: Sauté garlic and ginger, add sauce, then return shrimp and broccoli. Toss to coat and heat through.
  5. Serve: Enjoy hot over rice or on its own.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, use tofu instead of shrimp.
  • Adjust ginger and garlic to taste.
  • Cook shrimp just until pink for best texture.
  • Recipe can be doubled, cooking in batches.
  • Use low sodium soy sauce for better control over salt content.
