Description

Southern Peach Tea is a refreshing and sweet beverage perfect for hot summer days. The combination of black tea, ripe peaches, and a hint of lemon creates a deliciously fruity and aromatic drink that can be enjoyed by all.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 medium ripe peaches (pitted and diced)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves and peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Steep Tea: Place tea bags in boiling water and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and discard.
  2. Make Peach Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, diced peaches, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and peaches are soft, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Combine: In a pitcher, combine the brewed tea and peach syrup. Stir well to mix.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate until cold.
  5. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the peach tea over the ice, and garnish with mint leaves and peach slices. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your preference.
  • For a stronger peach flavor, let the peach syrup sit for a few hours or overnight before combining with the tea.
  • Feel free to add a splash of bourbon or vodka for an adult version of this drink.
