- 1/3 cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, canola, etc.)
- 1 cup milk or water
- 4 large eggs
Vanilla Buttercream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon milk (add more if needed)
Coating
- 12 oz candy melts
- white nonpareils or sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake: Mix the cake mix, oil, milk (or water), and eggs until well combined. Bake according to package instructions and let it cool.
- Make the Buttercream: Beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk until smooth.
- Assemble: Crumble the cake and mix in the buttercream to form a dough. Roll into balls and chill.
- Coat: Melt candy melts, dip the cake balls, and decorate with sprinkles. Let them set before serving.
Notes
- You can use any color of candy melts and sprinkles to customize the cake pops for different occasions.
- For a shortcut, you can use store-bought frosting instead of making the buttercream from scratch.
