Description

This Thai Spice Sweet Tea recipe combines traditional Thai spices with the sweetness of sugar and coconut milk for a unique and flavorful twist on classic sweet tea.


Ingredients

  • 4 1/4 cups water
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 3 whole star anise
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon tamarind paste (optional)
  • 1/3 cup white sugar, or to taste
  • 5 bags rooibos tea
  • 2 bags black tea
  • 3/4 cup coconut milk, blended smooth

Instructions

  1. Boil Spices: In a large pot, bring water, cardamom pods, star anise, cloves, cinnamon, and tamarind paste to a boil.
  2. Add Sugar and Tea: Stir in sugar, rooibos tea, and black tea. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add Coconut Milk: Remove from heat, stir in blended coconut milk, and let steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the tea mixture into a pitcher and serve over ice.
