    • 5 Chicken legs (chicken quarters) about 2.4lb (1kg)
    • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Za’atar seasoning
    • juice of 1 Lemon
    • Zest of 1 lemon
    • 1 medium Onion sliced into rounds
    • 1 Tablespoon Garlic paste
    • 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
    • 1/4 cup olive oil
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix the za’atar seasoning, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic paste, tomato paste, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken legs with the marinade.
  3. Arrange in a baking dish: Place the sliced onions in the bottom of a baking dish and arrange the marinated chicken legs on top.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  5. Serve: Serve the Za’atar Chicken hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
