Description

This Creamy Paprika Chicken recipe features tender chicken thighs cooked in a rich and flavorful paprika-infused sauce, finished with a touch of sour cream for creaminess. It’s a comforting and satisfying dish perfect for a cozy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 500 g (1lb) chicken thighs, cubed
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • Pinch of chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • For the sauce:
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pinch of sugar

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Cut chicken into cubes, marinate with olive oil, red wine vinegar, paprika, oregano, thyme, and chilli flakes.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Cook marinated chicken in a skillet until seared, then set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: Saute onion, garlic, add paprika, thyme, chilli flakes, white wine, chicken stock, sour cream, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  4. Combine and Cook: Add chicken back to the pan, simmer until sauce thickens and chicken is cooked through.
  5. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with bread or rice.

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less chilli flakes.
  • For a lighter version, you can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
