  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • 1/2 cup pasta water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil + more for garnish
  • shredded Parmesan for garnish
  • Kosher salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil rigatoni until al dente, then reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, heat olive oil, sauté garlic and Italian seasoning.
  3. Brown Sausage: Add Italian sausage, cook until browned.
  4. Simmer Sauce: Pour in crushed tomatoes and cream, simmer for flavor melding.
  5. Combine & Serve: Toss cooked pasta in sauce, adding pasta water as needed. Garnish with basil and Parmesan.
