  • 1 pound (450 g) Ground beef
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried or fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) Broth or water
  • 1/4 cup Pine nuts (optional)

For topping:

  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, and oil. Knead until smooth. Let rise.
  2. Make the filling: Sauté onion, garlic, and brown ground beef with spices. Add tomato paste and broth, then cook until juicy.
  3. Shape the buns: Divide dough, fill with beef mixture, seal tightly, and shape into balls.
  4. Rest and bake: Let the filled buns rest, then brush with egg, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake until golden brown.
