Homemade Dough for 2:
- 1 and 1/3 cups warm water
- 2 and 1/4 teaspoons instant or active-dry yeast
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Fillings for 2:
- 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 pound thinly sliced meats
- 3/4–1 pound cheese
Egg Wash & Topping for 2:
- egg wash: 1 large egg beaten with 1 Tablespoon water
- optional: fresh or dried parsley, flaky sea salt, grated Parmesan
Instructions
- Whisk the yeast mixture: Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Add remaining dough ingredients: Mix in olive oil, salt, and flour. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes.
- Knead the dough: Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Rise: Let the dough double in size for 60-90 minutes.
- Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets.
- Shape the dough: Divide, roll, and fill each portion with meats and cheeses.
- Brush with egg wash, roll, and seal.
- Bake: Bake at 400°F for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Enjoy plain or with marinara sauce for dipping.
