Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef 85/15 lean-to-fat ratio recommended
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg large
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Gravy:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes peeled and chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare Meatballs: Combine meatball ingredients, shape into balls, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Cook Potatoes: Boil potatoes and garlic until tender.
- Make Gravy: Sauté onion and garlic, add broth, Worcestershire sauce, and cornstarch slurry to thicken.
- Mash Potatoes: Drain and mash potatoes with milk, butter, salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Combine: Simmer meatballs in gravy, then serve over mashed potatoes.
